on the getting of hitched
Sunday, June 25th, 2006Mazel Tov to Josh & Mik’Ael* who braved the blazing heat to get married in the out-of-doors at the Beacon House today. The cake was faboo (Llamaface said there was too much frosting, to which I say mmmmmmmmmmmm frostinnnnnnnnnnng!), the ceremony was gloriously short (see previous note about blazing heat), and aside from a little cranky spell until he got down to business & nursed in a VERY comfy chair in the “bridal suite,” Boogermonkey was a trooper.** The whole shebang was dedicated to Josh’s dad, who died two years ago from cancer, and it was a good celebratory time. Got to see people we don’t get to see often due to work schedules & geography, play a little catch-up, and munch on crudite & salmon pate.
* Philosophical question of the day: Do you still have to pay the officiant if she consistently mispronounces your name, even after your spouse says it properly?
** He fell asleep while being held & passed around, even staying that way during the erstwhile conga line. Later, Peter took him with the unmarried guys to the garter toss & Andy “caught” it. Wore it on his head until we got home***
***Yes, there are pictures. No, I haven’t uploaded them yet. I’m thinking tomorrow, maybe. Along with the BSG pictures, of course, because I know all of you care SOOOO MUCH about yarn
